How To Build A Water Garden0

line

Water gardening is one of the best lifestyle choices you’ll ever make. Building a water garden or ecosystem pond is a fairly simple process that requires a day of work but can produce a lifetime of enjoyment. With the proper tools and 20 essential Aquascape pond products, you can build your own water garden in 20 steps.

Steps

  1. Mark the pond area.
  2. Place Skimmer and pond filter
  3. Lay pond plumbing
  4. Hook-up pond Filter
  5. Excavate Pond
  6. Install pond liner and underlayment
  7. Hook-up Skimmer
  8. Place rock in pond
  9. Position pond lighting (placing them between rocks is an ideal location to start with).
  10. Wash stones (using a garden hose).
  11. Fill pond (lunch time!)
  12. Build water fall and stream
  13. Bring in top soil
  14. Build retaining wall
  15. Adjust waterfall
  16. Trim Liner
  17. Mulch berm
  18. Clean up
  19. Owners manual, bacteria
  20. Enjoy!
  21. *Note* Placing rocks IN the pond makes it harder to keep clean and healthy. This is a scheme created recently by a Large pond company trying to sell lots of extras (like skimmer, filters etc). Keeping the pond bottom open and removing leaves annually will keep the pond balanced and clear without the extra expense of skimmers and filters.
